Build a car rental system

• Branches own vehicles (id, type such as hatchback, sedan or SUV, plate, daily rate); customers have a driving licence number and an active flag
• search({ branchId, from, to, type? }) returns vehicles at the branch that have no overlapping reservation in that period and are not under maintenance
• reserve(customerId, vehicleId, from, to) creates a reservation only when the vehicle is free for the whole interval (half-open ranges), and cancelling frees it
• pickup(reservationId) records the start (and odometer reading) and returnVehicle(reservationId, returnBranchId, odometer) closes the rental, supporting a return at a different branch with a fee
• Pricing is a strategy: daily rate times the days (rounded up from the actual duration), weekend or long-rental discounts, a late fee for returning after the end time, and a deposit
• A reservation cannot be created for a past date, an inactive customer, or a vehicle already booked, and each failure returns a specific error
