Build a searchable select with multi-select

• Clicking or focusing the control opens a listbox of options; typing filters them case-insensitively, with a "No results" message
• Clicking an option or pressing Enter selects it; in multi-select mode the option becomes a chip with a remove button and the list stays open
• Keyboard: ArrowUp and ArrowDown move the highlighted option (scrolling it into view), Enter selects, Escape closes, Backspace on empty input removes the last chip
• Clicking outside closes the list
• ARIA: input with role="combobox", aria-expanded, aria-controls and aria-activedescendant; the list has role="listbox" and options role="option" with aria-selected
• Selected options are hidden from or marked in the list, and the component is controlled via value and onChange

Only after every requirement works.

• Async options loaded from an API with debouncing and a loading state
• "Create new option" row when the typed text has no match
• Group headings and virtualised rendering for thousands of options
